Terms and Conditions for Booking a Service

How Connecting Jamaica works

Introduction
When you book a Guided Tour, Workshop or Airport Transfer, (the “Product(s)”), Connecting Jamaica provides the Platform, but not the Guided Tours, Workshops or Airport Transfers itself.

What does Connecting Jamaica do?
We provide a place for you to discover and book Guided Tours, Workshops or Airport Transfers.

When you make a Booking on our Platform, you enter into a contract with the Supplier. i.e. the person or entity selling and who is responsible for providing the Guided Tours, Workshops or Airport Transfers to you.

In respect of each Booking, Connecting Jamaica acts as a disclosed agent on behalf of the Supplier, meaning that a listing represents an invitation by the Supplier to you and that we accept on behalf of that Supplier.

Connecting Jamaica is not a travel agency and does not provide or own any Guided Tours, Workshops or Airport Transfers.

Although Connecting Jamaica provides the Platform with information about Products and facilitates Bookings, such actions do not in any way constitute Connecting Jamaica’s sponsorship or approval of such Suppliers or any affiliation between Connecting Jamaica and any Supplier.

Booking confirmation
Once your booking is confirmed, you will receive a confirmation email.

If a confirmation email is not received within minutes after making payment, then it may take up to 1 hour.

We suggest adding ConnectingJamaica.com to your Safe Senders list to make sure you receive all our emails. If you don’t receive our emails, check your spam / junk folder.

If you receive a notice that the Booking is unavailable for your requested time / date / option, you may select an alternative date / time / option or cancel your reservation with a full refund.

In these cases; be sure to respond as soon as possible with your preference as availability may be limited.

If there are no suitable alternatives, your reservation will automatically be cancelled and refunded in full.

How does Connecting Jamaica make money?
We do not sell any Guided Tours, Workshops or Airport Transfers and we do not own any of the businesses you see listed on our site.

When you make a Booking, the Supplier pays Connecting Jamaica a commission.

Reviews
You can only submit a review of a Guided Tour, Workshop or Airport Transfer if you were the person who made the booking through Connecting Jamaica.

In some cases, we will also send you an email asking you to validate your review before it is published.

Once submitted, your review cannot be modified and your review will remain published on our Platform indefinitely.

Your review will only be removed if you wish to remove it by contacting us or if our team of moderators has determined that the review does not meet our criteria for publication.

Suppliers are free to encourage customers to post their reviews, but no Supplier may offer any incentive in exchange for a review.

Reviews written in exchange for personal benefits such as gifts, services or money will be removed.

Prices and Payments
When you make a Booking, you pay the total price of the Product, inclusive of any taxes and fees.

The price of each Product will be quoted on a per-person basis, unless otherwise specified.

Prices do not include tips/gratuities; passport and visa fees; baggage and personal insurance; any items of a personal nature; and any beverages or food not specifically stated as included by the Supplier.

Modifications or Cancellations by You
We understand that at times there can be situations where you are unable to honour a booking due to ill health etc.

Our cancellation policy allows you to request a change and/or cancel a Booking up-to 24 hours before the start time of the Booking;

Or if the Booking does not have an explicit start time, the deadline to request a change or to cancel will generally be 11:59pm, two days before the start date.

Timings are based in accordance with the local time in Jamaica.

Connecting Jamaica does not guarantee the success of any Change Request and it shall not be deemed successful unless Connecting Jamaica confirms that a Change Request is accepted.

To the extent the Supplier is unable to accept such Change Request, then your right to a refund (if any) shall be governed by the cancellation terms of your Booking.

For a cancellation or change request to be effective, it must be made through the self-service options available through the Website (e.g. Connecting Jamaica.com/refunds-and-change-request).

Connecting Jamaica has no obligation to provide refunds to Customers who do not contact Connecting Jamaica to cancel within the applicable cancellation time period.

Cancellations Initiated by the Supplier
Occasionally a Supplier may make a change to a Product after your purchase, including but not limited to the date, price, inclusions, coverage, age requirements, and/or any other Product features and/or requirements.

As a result, Connecting Jamaica (acting on the Supplier’s behalf), reserves the right to cancel, change or substitute any Product that you have purchased, at any time, for any reason.

If the change proposed by the Supplier is material (for example, a change in dates and/or a significant change to the itinerary), and you are dissatisfied with the alternative that is offered, you will be entitled to a full refund of the original purchase price, excluding the Booking Fee.

Meeting Point
It is your responsibility to be at the meeting place at the time and date communicated on your Booking.

If you are not at such meeting point at the required time, the Supplier may offer to accommodate you at an alternative time and date.

However, the Supplier shall be under no obligation to do so and your failure to be at the communicated meeting point at the required time may result in your Booking being classified as a ‘no show’, meaning that you will not be entitled to any refund or to being rebooked.

‘No Show’
You are not entitled to request a refund or rescheduling if you fail to show up for a Booking, regardless of the reason of such failure, including, without limitation, medical emergencies, flight delays or cancellations, political events, wars or epidemics.

If you do not show up at the designated pickup point at the scheduled time, it will be considered a no-show.

Free Cancellation and Refunds
You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the start date / time of the Booking for a full refund.

If you cancel less than 24 hours before the start date / time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.

Any changes made less than 24 hours before the start date / time will not be accepted.

Cut-off times are based on the local time in Jamaica.

If the Product requires good weather and if it’s cancelled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.

If the Product requires a minimum number of travellers and if it’s cancelled because the minimum number is not met, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.

Most refund requests are processed within 48 hours.

If your refund request is approved, it may take 5-7 business days from the date the refund is processed to appear on your statement, depending on your financial institution.

No refunds are available once a Booking has commenced.
