United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Jamaica
- Description
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Jamaica is the main UN agency supporting sustainable development, poverty reduction and resilience-building across Jamaica and the wider Caribbean.
Present in Jamaica since 1976, the UNDP Multi-Country Office works across four key pillars: Social Resilience & Inclusion, Citizen Safety & Security and Rule of Law, Climate Change Resilience, and Sustainable Natural Resource Management.
Taking a holistic, people-centred approach, UNDP Jamaica helps implement programmes that reduce inequality, foster social inclusion, strengthen community and institutional capacity, and support environmental stewardship.
Recent efforts include support for climate-resilient recovery, green economic growth, sustainable transport, biodiversity conservation and disaster risk reduction.
By combining global expertise, local partnerships and community-led action, UNDP Jamaica works to build a more equitable, sustainable and resilient future – making it a trusted cornerstone of development and humanitarian efforts in the region.
