As one of the largest green spaces in the city, this park is more than just a place for relaxation and recreation; it is a living tribute to Jamaica’s national heroes and notable figures.

The park spans over 50 acres and is beautifully landscaped with lush gardens, memorials and monuments dedicated to the men and women who have shaped the nation’s history.

For 101 years, the land was the centre for horse racing in Jamaica. It was also the site for other sporting activities such as cricket and cycle racing.

In 1818, the Kingston Council purchased the property for £985 and 10 shillings.

National Heroes Park is home to the mausoleums of Jamaica’s national heroes, including Marcus Garvey, Norman Manley and Sir Alexander Bustamante.
