The island's name is believed to have originated from the monkeys that were once brought there by a former owner.
Accessible by a short boat ride or even by swimming from the mainland, Pellew Island offers pristine beaches and clear waters, making it a secluded paradise for visitors.
As a natural, undeveloped spot, there are no facilities on the island and access is generally free, though arranging transportation may involve a fee.
